Shakevia’s Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation Incorporated is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness and promote the prevention of Sickle Cell Anemia Disease. Sickle Cell Anemia is a genetic blood disorder that affects millions of people worldwide, predominately of minority decent. The diseases causes pain, organ damage, and premature death. Unfortunately sickle cell anemia is overlooked and underfunded in terms of research, treatment, and support services.
We provide support to patients and their families, advocate for better resources and care, and provide a variety of programs and services including educational workshops, patient support groups, financial assistance and coordinate outreach initiatives to promote early detection and diagnosis. We serve the community through various events including our Signature Health and Wellness Fair and other donation activities. We actively collaborate with healthcare professionals and researchers to advance the understanding and treatment of Sickle Cell Anemia.
